Are you a skilled and hands-on Field Service Engineer looking for an exciting international opportunity? We are looking for professionals with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, who enjoy troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining complex machinery.

Your Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial machines in Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Packing and Manufacturing Industry.
  • Providing technical training and support to customers, distributors, and service partners.
  • Analyzing technical issues and offering efficient solutions to ensure machine uptime and performance.
  • Supervising installation teams and ensuring quality control during large-scale projects.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to provide technical expertise and customer support.
  • Reporting and logging service activities in the internal systems (SAP, MS Office).

Job requirements

What we’re looking For
  • A technical degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in PLC programming (Siemens Step7, TIA Portal) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Customer-focused, hands-on mentality, and a proactive approach.
  • Fluent in English (German or French is a plus).
  • Willingness to travel extensively (70-80% of the time across Europe and internationally).
  • Valid driver’s license (B).

Salary

€3.750 - €4.750 gross income per month

Work Remotely from Porto with Xelvin

This is a remote position based in Porto, Portugal, where you will work for a Dutch company while residing in Portugal. You will have access to Xelvin’s office in Porto for project preparation and administrative tasks, collaborating with other technicians and engineers working for Xelvin. Several times a year, Xelvin will cover the costs for you to fly to the Netherlands to stay connected with the team and undergo training sessions.
