Department

Within Engine Development is the center of competence for heavy duty diesel / hydrogen engine and aftertreatment systems. Our engines and trucks are best of class products in the transportation world. We are driven to providing environmentally friendly products that are cost-effective and highly reliable for our customers.

Within the engine development department, the system definition group is responsible for defining new engines and aftertreatment systems including emissions, OBD and diagnostics. To support the growth in projects and technology development, we are looking for a well-qualified:


Job description

  • Develop heavy duty diesel engines with focus on diagnostics robustness
o Check diagnostic monitor robustness (false fails, MIL lamp on time, detectability)
o Deliver improvement proposal plans for running and future projects
o Take part of root cause analysis and resolution process of field issues
  • Provide input on project requirements at property-, function- and calibration level, based on the experience and analysis of current fleets
  • Setup robustness analysis early in the development process (i.e. a Monte Carlo alike process with early RCP based OBD monitor updates)
  • Identify necessary tests, for early test cell and vehicle testing to establish an early diagnostic performance status for upcoming projects
  • Take initiative to constantly improve related tools and processes
  • Collaboration in multidisciplinary project teams (i.e. embedded engineering, mechanical engineering, service)
  • Analyze, summarize, review and report out diagnostic performance of current product to (Project) Management

Job requirements

Master degree in Automotive Technology or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in engine and aftertreatment OBD development
  • Experience on diagnostic related topics
o i.e. OBD monitors, diagnostics for service, scan tool protocols, lamp on time, ...
  • Six Sigma - Green or Black belt
o i.e. Statistics, DMAIC, fishbone, boundary diagram, FMEA related experience
  • Strong data analytics background
  • Good English skills are mandatory

Compensation

€4.000 - €5.000 gross income per month
