Our client
Our client is a transportation company that provides public transport services in several European countries, including the Netherlands. The company offers various services such as train, bus, and taxi transport, with the goal of delivering reliable and sustainable mobility solutions. Our client operates under government concessions and transports millions of passengers daily. In the Netherlands, they runs regional train services and bus routes, with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability.

Our client has around 1,300 buses on the road and operates 164 trains on routes in the north, east, and Limburg. With 5,500 enthusiastic employees, they are dedicated to providing passengers with a great travel experience!

What are you going to do?
At the beginning you will be working under supervision. When your first months are up you will be ready to do maintenance and repair work independently. Today you check the diesel engines and then the hydraulic and pneumatic installations based on control and measurement sheets. You tap the job on the tablet and start together with your colleague. When you are done then you sign off the job.
Everything is done safely in this workshop. This afternoon you support technical research and look at optimizing various maintenance jobs. Sometimes you also advise machinists/busdrivers who call you when they have a question.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on the vehicles
  • Locate and fix fault causes
  • Perform repairs
  • You maintain the diesel engines & the electrical systems
  • You measure the wheels and you check whether certain things are within standards. If something deviates from the documentation, you reject it.
  • When something is rejected, you and a colleague make sure the right part is delivered again, so the vehicles can leave the workshop according to the standards.
  • Helping your colleagues and having fun

Job requirements

Education, experience & skills
  • Vocational trade diploma, qualified artisan (Red Seal) towards Mechanical or Automotive engineering;
  • Demonstrable experience in maintenance and repair of various vehicles, including heavy vehicles;
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
  • Proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when carrying out work.
  • Good communication skills in Afrikaans/Dutch and preferably English.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with varying working hours.

Salary

€3.250 - €4.000 gross income per month
