• Dimensioning and making calculations for electrical installations;
• Managing the project engineer and/or draftsman and also checking the design;
• Motivating the calculations, product selections, and elaborations made;

Large Projects Netherlands (LPN) has a rapidly growing portfolio of large projects that are essential for facilitating the energy transition. To be well-prepared as a powerful unit for our future challenges, LPN is undergoing a complex transformation. To facilitate this, a new organizational structure was established in early 2022. Role:
The Cable Engineer position is part of the Engineering department. Your formal workplace for this role is in Arnhem at the TenneT headquarters, but hybrid working is also the new normal for us. The tasks for which we seek support take place in the South of the Netherlands, but engineering activities mainly occur from the office in Arnhem.

A Cable Engineer is responsible for the technical design of the cable connection, from the basic design to the execution design. We work closely with external engineering parties for this. Additionally, we focus on standardization, innovation, and digitalization of the technology (our assets) within LPN. We collaborate closely with other departments. Being involved from the beginning to the end of the project, we build knowledge and ensure there are sufficient development opportunities within the engineering team in the projects.

As a Cable Engineer, your main responsibilities are:

• Providing technical input in tracing new cable connections. This involves contributing to the route of the new cable.
• (Supervising) monitoring/testing of cable engineering activities in accordance with the scope defined by the client and within the specified conditions;
• Directing and testing external engineering parties;
• Coordinating and monitoring technical interfaces between all parties and suppliers within a project.
• (Supervising) drafting technical specifications and work packages, monitoring technical compliance, and reviewing calculations, drawings, reports, and analyses from third parties;
• Ensuring quality, performance, and compliance with (inter)national standards and guidelines regarding cables/connections;
• Being the contact point and discussion partner for technical issues related to cables/connections.

Our Client deals with large data centers where connections come in. These data centers must operate continuously, and the technicians ensure this. Our Client is actively seeking candidates with an NQF5 diploma, preferably candidates with experience as a service and maintenance technician/fault technician. Candidates will primarily deal with the power supply that a data center requires; tasks begin at the street cabinet (where the phone lines come in). The candidate will maintain everything in this area, including dealing with batteries during power outages.

Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance and installation work, as well as commissioning various building-related electrical energy installations.
Assess the nature and coherence of faults, devise solutions, and choose methods and means to repair installations.

What are you going to do?
Your work starts with a good preparation. You view the product documentation and are aware of the test regulations. You set up the test setup and prepare the work. After this you will actually test the assembler products with the corresponding test. Finally, you program the assembled systems. You work with different test programs and test systems on a daily basis. If a test is unexpectedly unsuccessful, you will analyze and solve the malfunction. As a Diagnostics Software Test Engineer you are part of the Diagnostics Release & Quality Control Team.
This dynamic team is responsible for the agile development and (automatic) testing of the software for the DAVIE diagnosis tool.
The aim is to provide a high-quality diagnostic tool to support the entire PACCAR organization with optimal diagnostic, testing and programming functions and knowledge.
