The Product Improvement Engineer
- set up the earliest possible time for a corrective action plan for product complaints that have been identified / analyzed by Customer Service and meet the criteria set for a CSO (Customer Solution Order).
- Make this action plan available to the dealer network and/or customer of the available information.
Position
The Product Improvement Engineer reported to:
- Manager Service Technical Services
The Product Improvement Engineer
- initiates corrective actions
- receives and monitors GFRs (General Field Report). These are product improvement requests from the DAF dealers.
- follows up product improvement requests towards SQA/supplier
- owns budget plans for field actions up to minimum approval
- Ensures certain/coordination with Paccar Parts about the minimum stock of parts
- registers field actions in the systems
- ensures timely reporting to management on the progress of field actions.
The Product Improvement Engineer has up-to-date knowledge of and an overview of:
- Technically developed aspects of guarantees
- Insight into failure rate and costs of technical warranty issues
- Number of (customer) complaints per year
- Number of ongoing and round field actions
Job requirements
- At least a completed HBO education, for example Automotive Engineering, Technical Business Administration
- Technical background
- Good knowledge of the English language in word and writing
- Knowledge of spoken and written German is a big plus
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
- Knowledge of DAF products (parts), services, procedures, systems and DAF Total Care strategy is an advantage
- Knowledge of and insight into workshop activities and organisation
- Insight into outdated technical developments in the truck industry
- Knowledge of the truck industry and its conclusion is an advantage
- Self-starting, merging, administrative affinity
