Quality Assurance (QA) Officer
Location: relocation required to the Netherlands
Job Description:
Are you passionate about ensuring top-notch quality in food production? As a QA Officer, you'll be at the heart of maintaining and enhancing our site's quality processes and standards. Your role will involve overseeing our quality systems, collaborating with various teams, and driving improvements in our processes and culture.
As a QA Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the quality processes, systems, and culture at our site. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee and improve quality processes, systems, and culture within the site.
  • Develop, implement, and verify the HACCP plan for the site. Manage HACCP teams across various plants.
  • Facilitate audits and inspections conducted by government bodies, certifying entities, and customers.
  • Address quality issues with suppliers, lead targeted improvement initiatives, and follow up on complaints.
  • Facilitate the change management process within various plants.
  • Collaborate with QA colleagues to handle daily ad hoc issues.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee projects related to quality, sustainability, and environment.
  • Conduct internal quality training sessions.
  • Manage the follow-up and resolution of deviations, customer/supplier complaints. Investigate root causes and develop improvement plans or procedure changes as needed.
  • Prepare, supervise, and follow up on both internal and external audits.
  • Analyze data from various sources and perform trend analyses to propose improvements.
  • Analyze and implement new certifications or customer standards.
  • Translate complex information into applicable work instructions and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various departments to ensure quality requirements are met.

Job requirements

Qualifications:
o Completed Diploma or Batchelor education in Food Technology, Food & Quality Management, or a related field.
o Several years of QA work experience in the food industry.
o Experience with HACCP/BRC/IFS and other quality assurance systems.
o Proficiency in Afrikaans or Dutch is crucial, as all safety regulations and manuals are in Dutch. We seek candidates who are committed to swiftly learn spoken and written Dutch.
Skills:
o Proficiency in managing and implementing HACCP, BRC, IFS, and other quality assurance systems.
o Some knowledge of microbiology or experience as a Chemical Analyst is advantageous.
o Strong affinity with FSSC.
o Ability to work accurately, maintain an overview, and be precise.
o Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively at different levels.
