Introduction to the job
As a Service Engineer within our client's department, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing equipment. Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you'll ensure adherence to service work orders and maximize machine uptime while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Execute service work orders safely and efficiently;
- Keep technical knowledge current and update skills regularly;
- Obtain customer sign-off on service work orders and provide detailed field service reports promptly;
- Communicate job progress to both the customer and the Field Service Supervisor;
- Maintain professionalism, appearance, and equipment condition at all times;
- Contribute actively to a professional and profitable service organization;
- Follow safety and quality instructions diligently;
- Install new machines and perform upgrades;
- Troubleshoot and repair machines on-site or remotely;
- Conduct preventative maintenance and support testing/commissioning tasks;
- Provide training to customers and third-party operators/technicians;
- Collaborate with the team to share insights and improve machine serviceability;
- Ensure timely submission of service documentation.
Education, Experience & Skills
- National Diploma (MBO) or Bachelor in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in electronics and mechanics;
- Proficient in analyzing and resolving problems with complex machinery;
- Familiarity with PLCs from various vendors (e.g., Siemens, Beckhoff);
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Comfortable working independently and in teams;
- Well-organized, self-disciplined, and receptive to coaching;
- Proficient in computer applications like MS Office;
- Willingness to travel extensively worldwide and flexibility in working hours.
